Milestones!

Since our last post Reece really is standing on her own. Looks like we are going to have to lower her crib again. She is able to pull herself up in her crib and pack n play. She has also managed to pull herself out of her bumpo. I haven't got to see it first hand but Chris tells me she will rotate, pop one leg out, then the other. WOW!! I really have to keep an eye on her and start baby proofing! BTW did I mention she has a tooth! I noticed it yesterday. It is just now poking out of her gums. What's next????

Look Mommy and Daddy I'm Standing All On My Own!

Reece is getting to be such a big girl. Yes she is standing all on her own....but she didn't get there all by herself. She had a little help from her mommy and daddy...but still I'm amazed at how strong she's getting. BTW did I mention that everyone in the household has come down with some kind of cold. I wanted to blame it on allergies but since it seems to be passed down from Chris to me and now to Reece, I'm sure it's something contagious. I'm taking her in to the doc today since she seems to be coughing all the time. I'll update the news later but got to go to get her there on time!

After!

Ok you're probably wondering what is this before and after about. Well if you look real close Reece has a diamond stud in her earlobe! We finally got her EARS PIERCED! Chris gave me the okay a couple of weeks ago and you'd think I would have jumped at the chance and got it done by now but I'm a procrastinator. Oh I forgot to mention that I almost chickened out but as you can see from the pic Reece was a champ and received a bravery certificate for getting it done. Not that she really had a choice. hehe. She cried while the lady pierced each ear but by the time her daddy threw her in the air and played with her she forgot all about why she was crying. BTW did I mention she is a daddy's girl!

What About My Nap??

So granted I could put down the computer and not blog but I wanted to share pics of the 2 snoozers. I really feel bad for Chris. He has come down with a bad case of allergies turned infection. So needless to say he has been keeping me up each night by his coughing. So when did I start functioning so well on multiple interruptions of sleep resulting in lack of sleep? Since Reece was born! Let me tell you motherhood is not for the weak. I think nursing Reece every 3 hours in the beginning and of course her not knowing her days from nights amounted to a mom who functions pretty darn well without sleep. Ask me how I'm doing around 9pm though and you'll get a different answer! Well my baby's awake and my time for blogging has come to an end!

Bed Hog!

This is what happens on the rare occasion that we let Reece sleep with us. She definitely knows when she's not at home sleeping in her own bed! So when we went to visit her Ba Ngoai (grandma in Vietnamese) she just wasn't having it in the pack n play there and let me tell you this thing is the deluxe, 4 star, with all the bells and whistles pack n play. So what happens...Daddy moves to the couch, Reece moves in with Mommy! For the record whenever Reece makes it to the bed, it is mostly Chris's doing!

Reece's 6month Pictures!

So we finally took Reece's 6 month pictures. We managed to squeeze it in a week before she turns 7 months. I can't believe how much she's grown! At her 6mth check up she weighed a wopping 17lbs. That doesn't seem like a lot but she only weighed 6.6 at birth! She's not a little baby anymore! She sits up on her own and she's been doing that since December! She rolls constantly. She'll start on one side of the rug and end up on the other in no time flat! She makes lots of noises. Sometimes it sounds like she's singing! Chris has finally decided that I can get her ears pierced so hopefully the next time we post pictures we will have them done! That's it for now. I think I will have to officially take over the blog since Chris has been slacking! Until next time.....Maria
