Duh? Bah? What?

Reece has been doing the Dada thing for awhile but I swear she has added two new words to her vocabulary. When she's in her high chair being stubborn like her Daddy not eating her greens, I teach her new things. Like kiss. Yes she can give a cute pucker with sound and all. Well she has a little bath duck. It was the very first thing Chris put on the registry. So I will sit there and say duck duck duck duck. Like a thousand times. I'm a broken record duck duck duck. You get the point! Well her response is duh. I don't care what anyone else says it's duck. Same goes with ball! Ball ball ball. Can I get a bah? That's right! Reeces's first words are duck and ball!

Poor Reece!

What a night! Yesterday was an awesome day. We had a crawfish boil at our good friends Andy and Elizabeth. Yummy. I left early to keep Reece on her schedule. Plus she was getting a little fussy. It's her way of saying "Mommy, I'm tired, feed me and put me to sleep". So Chris took me home and I got her ready for bed. I took a wash cloth and wiped her down. Not the spa treatment her Daddy usually gives her during bath time but enough to get most of the junk off of her. Then I nursed her and put her down in her pack in play for what I thought would be a good nights sleep. So I heard her cough a few times and thought she'd fall back asleep but then the next thing I knew she was crying. I go in there to find that she had puked up all her meal and it was all over her hair and clothes and it was a mess in her bed. Daddy had gone back to the boil but thankfully came home and gave her a real bath and we tried it all over again. Except she was in the bed now because I was too lazy to wash and dry her sheets and interrupt her sleep by moving her from one place to another. BTW did I mention that it took her about 30 minutes to stop coughing and during the whole ordeal she was still trying to grab at everything she could. Such a busy body even when she's coughing up a lung. hehe

Full Circle!

I'm not sure how long ago it was but Chris got sick, then Reece, and finally me. Well it has come full circle again. The only difference is that Reece has finally gotten her 1st ear infection. We didn't even realize it since she didn't have a fever and wasn't tugging at her ears. She's too busy trying to climb in the toilet, bath tub, up her bouncer etc to play with her ears! We took her to her 9 month appointment yesterday. She technically isn't 9 months until Friday but I moved up her appointment because she has a fierce cough and I didn't want to wait to get that checked out. She was such a ham at the pediatricians office. Giving kisses, waving, tearing up the paper they roll out after each patient. So anyway she started her first round of antibiotics yesterday. She weighs in at 18lbs 12oz. I knew she hadn't packed on that much weight since her last appt. I mean seriously-she is on the go all day, everyday. How's a girl suppose to gain weight when she's burning so many calories? So anyway she's not too skinny and not too chubby for a baby. She's in the 50% in everything. Height, weight, and head size. Oh did I mention she is doing things most babies don't do until 11 months. She's my pride and joy! Now I know why parents talk about their kiddos so much. It's hard not to when Reece is so adorable but then again I am her mom and biased. But really she is the most beautiful baby!!!!!

Houston We Have a Problem!

So we decided to take a scenic drive and do what all new parents do! Yes bluebonnet pictures. It seemed like it would have been a calm and peacefull photo shoot but it was not! What's the problem one would say? It's just a few snapshots. First our camera wouldn't operate. It really was on it's last leg and needless to say it is out of commission for good. Thank goodness for our backup hand held video recorder that does still shots as well! Anyway so here is what you get! A windblown child who isn't interested in the camera but instead pulling up everything around her! Oh and of course putting it in her mouth! Gotta love it!

Silent Night-I Don't Think So!

I have never seen a child do a plank with such ease and hold it for so long. Right when you think she is going to drop to her knees and do a childs pose she delicately maneuvers into a downward dog. The other ladies in my mat science class would be so impressed. Heck I'm impressed. The next time I'm going to time how long she does it for. Well last night she wanted to practice all her yoga and pilates moves at 1130pm and 230am. Let me tell you how hard it is for me to gently roll her from a plank to her back while trying not to wake her and get her even more overstimulated. The other morning when Chris had to leave at the crack of dawn he took a peek at Reece sleeping and had a little giggle. She had wedged herself up against the side of her bed. Snug as a bug! That's usually when she sleeps the most peaceful is when she is occupying the least amount of space. Did I mention she had pulled herself up the other night and was staring at Chris and me in bed. Hehe. Reece really is a very active little girl. She only took one 3o minute nap yesterday and the day before only two 30 minute naps. That is really not enough time for me to decompress and take on the role of fun mommy for the next how many more hours. Anyone have any ideas on how to make her sleep longer? Did I mention that Reece now loves the door stoppers? She will crawl from one end of the room and then to the other end. Each time with a big BOING. Yesterday it got quiet and I knew she was up to something. She pulled the white tip off the stopper and had it in her mouth sucking on it like a hard piece of candy. Note to self. Pull off all the white ends. They are no longer the hardware to keep our door from slamming against the wall but now a choking hazard for my little baby. Enough rambling on a few hours of sleep and to all a good night!!!!!
